Tuesday's Driving Tip: Give yourself some time!
Have you ever noticed how your driving changes if you're trying to get somewhere in a hurry? Your focus can change from driving safely, to trying to get somewhere as quick as you can. On top of that, you're distracted because you're anxious that you're going to be late, get pulled over for speeding etc.
Here's the simple truth: if you give yourself more then enough time to make a trip, you'll drive safer, feel calmer, and probably have much more enjoyable experience driving than when you're in a hurry.
Driving Tip: Make eye contact
How do you know either that a driver, biker, or pedestrian has seen you? On the flip side, how can you be sure that all the same are seen by you? One important method is to make sure you get eye contact. What I often say is that if people SEE you they are less likely to HIT you!
So whether at a 4 way stop, intersection, or cross walk, work to make sure people make eye contact with you, and you with them.
