Tis the time of year where our road are being repaired, road projects are being done, and various people are working both not our highways and in town. Please, obey the signs! Slow down and watch out especially for those those directing traffic!
One time, years ago, I learned this the hard way. I was travelling back to Vernon from Alberta and I noticed "construction ahead" signs telling me to slow down. It was Sunday. I thought "they don't do road work on Sundays" so I keep going highway speed. I came around a corner and there was a flag person ahead of me with a stop sign!! I had to brake hard, and I was told off in very clear body language.
It was a memorable lesson for me. It doesn't matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or whether you think road working is going on. If there are signs saying to reduce your speed - OBEY THOSE SIGNS!

One of the most dangerous manoeuvres we do as drivers is backing up. You can't see very well, even if you have a back up camera. The best possible thing, in a parking lot, is when you can pull through a parking stall so that you can exit out the other side.
Failing that, try to back into the parking stall so that you can simply pull forward to exit. It takes some practice, but it is much safer than backing out.

Tuesday Driving Tip: know when to change over your tires.
Well, I think we've finished our last spring trip that may take us through some snow, so it's time to change over our tires to our "summer" or 3 season tires.
When most of your driving is on dry/ wet roads, and you don't have any plans to tackle the Coquihalla highway in the spring, it's a good idea to take off your winter tires. If your tires are on rims, then if you do end up doing a trip when you might run into snow, it's easy to switch them back.
